Jonas Kruse

Jonas Kruse is a master’s student in Data Science at TU Wien and holds a BSc in Applied Informatics from FH Erfurt. His current research is on the Biografiemaschine, a biographical research tool built in the lab in partnership with Wienbibliothek, where he works on LLM pipelines that turn library source material into structured biographies. This includes how entity disambiguation and model confidence are surfaced to readers, and what librarians actually need from such a system, which he investigates through user research sessions. His broader interests include natural language processing, information retrieval, recommender systems, and digital humanities. Alongside his academic work, he has several years of experience in system administration, DevOps, and full-stack development.
